Bestos.

Here's the deal. I have a best friend named T. S. Perkes. Obviously. We're married and it's the best! It really is. We have so much fun together just... doing nothing? Homework? Dishes? Regardless, we have fun. We love being with each other. And we're bff's!

But this post is not about that best friend of mine. It's about those best friends who I spent 20 years of my life with. Well maybe not all had 20 years of my life, because they are younger, but for sure Talia Finley did because we were born on the same night. So here's a little tribute to my best friends.
What made me do this? Well check out one of the bestos blogs HEREand you'll see. She rocks.

I could go on and on about memories I have with them:
All the games we played in the playroom (i.e. - college, house, school, putting on plays, etc).
All the bike rides to reams.
All the watchings of Clueless, Grease, Annie and Bye Bye Birdie (don't worry-- we didn't understand any of the sexual content in the first two movies until recently).
All the tedious arguments and attempted but failed solutions (like if you make someone mad, you have to pay them a dollar).
All the renting of insects-- grasshoppers to be exact.
All the laughter we shared.
All the forts we built in the meadow behind my house.
All the sleepovers in my basement.
All the summer days spent swimming, swinging, sliding and sunning.
All the tears we shed when our besto moved to California.
All the distance we had between us, even those who were still in Utah.
And then of course, all coming back together and rejoicing when our besto moved back.
All the High School Graduations.
All the boys.. oh the boys. How juvenile we were.
All the fear as we moved to college and on with life.
All the trips to STG (dance parties, dixie rock, shopping, swimming, "Love in this Club".
All the memories. I could go on and on!
I have the BEST best friends anyone could ask for.

Talia.

Melissa.

Witney.

These girls made me who I am today. They helped me make the decisions which led me to who I am today. Even if they don't know it.
Although I am old and married, our friendships will never die. They never have and they never will.
Things have changed, but for the better. I can't wait for their big days-- even if they aren't necessarily wedding days. No matter what happiness brings them, I'll be there. Mostly because they were there for me and because I love these girls.

Thanks bestos, for being the BEST. (cliche, i know. take it or leave it).

The end of my sentimental post.

Katie--
I loved your sentimental post!! It brought back so many memories. I thought you would mention the cows in the meadow along with the forts. I had forgotten about the renting of insects!!
Thanks for sharing.
I love your blog!!
