Scary Faces and Haunted Houses.

The party was a success. My Grandma did a superb job on the decor and the food was very delish. All the little kiddos loved it! We had to step out to attend a wedding reception, but while we were gone, everyone decorated their own "haunted house" to accompany the theme of haunted houses. I have no pictures of this, sadly, but I did get to see the end results! Loved the creativity shown by my cute cousins/nieces & nephews. Kids are awesome.

My "photobooth" idea needs to be perfected and I have many ideas of how to make it even better. Although, we got some good shots that I will be posting below. I can't wait to make it even better. I love the idea of a photo booth and portraits, it has my brain reeling for fun ideas including a possible Halloween Portrait idea... stay tuned and check the photo blog to see if it happens. :)

We spent the night at my Grandma's, which was so fun for me, since it's something I hadn't done in years. I loved waking up in the morning to the smell of sourdough pancakes and being greeted by my energetic cousins and my sweet Grandma.

Enjoy some of our "photo booth" photos and stay tuned for more perfected photo booths from me in the future.

Grandma's Halloween Party.

G & G Egbert on the left. We love Grandma Clyde too. :)

My awesome Grandparents have spent the past two and a half years living between Hawaii and Alaska. Sounds like the life, eh? Well they have recently returned back to their home in Lewiston, which is close to us, so we are grateful to have them back!

One really good thing, amongst many others, about them being back is my Grandma’s annual Halloween party. It kind of came to a halt when they were away, but it’s back and we couldn’t be happier! Tyson is very excited, probably because of all the great things we’ve told him about it. This is a Halloween party like no other. HOURS of preparation go into it. There’s a spooky dinner held in the greatly decorate dining room, which is never the same year to year. The spooky dinner is always followed by a spooky dessert, like the year we had “I-Scream” ice cream, complete with edible eye balls found in the ice cream. All this delectable food is followed by of course, a scary movie (The Ghost of Mr. Chicken is a frequently occurring scary movie at the Halloween party).
There may be other events in-between, each year is different! This year, I am planning on setting up a scary face/spooky photo booth to entertain the children while they anxiously wait to enter the dining room.

Anyway, the party is going to be this Friday and we cannot wait! We may have even tie dyed some shirts last night in Halloween colors to wear. Only photos will be evident of what will go on and what ensembles will be wore to Grandma’s Halloween Party. Scaring the L out of Grandchidren one year at a time.

this is halloween.

First of all, I have discovered this unknown love for Halloween this year. Yes I've enjoyed Halloween in the past. Scary movies (13 nights of Halloween), candy corn, fake spiders and spiderwebs, homemade chili, and deciding on what to dress up as. I've always enjoyed it. But this year, as I was looking at the Halloween decor at Smith's, I suddenly was thrilled for this Holiday! Therefore, I felt the need to buy some decorations and make our living quarters spooky and Halloween-ed out. I did my best being on a budget and I am pleased. See for yourself:

p.s.- try not to envy our cinder block walls TOO much.

p.p.s.- this is kind of exciting that you all get to see bits and pieces of our humble abode! i've been meaning to show off our glamorous apartment via photos on the blog, but it's never clean enough when i feel the urge to do so. don't worry, i'll get to it evenutally. :)
The witch above our little stove.
Cobweb on the lamp. Oh and a spider.
Spooky sign and a spooky looking tree.
 BOO!
Cobwebbed the mirror. Oh and there I am.
 Caution taped the back door.
 Halloween lights!
 Nice and bright and orange!
 The candy bowl.
 and the goods inside. :)
I went a little cobweb crazy.
Is this a fire hazard?... but really.
Literally, I cobwebbed just about everything. Plus isn't this bowl so cute. It's one of my favorite decorations we have!
And a bat by the front door to greet us and bid us farewell.

The end.

Baby COSTUME hungry.

Are you kidding me? I need a child or two just to dress up in these:

I was dying at Old Navy last night. I really wanted to buy them, but Tyson wouldn't let me. Obviously. We have no kids and won't for a while, but when we do... I am going to go crazy over costumes and clothes for them. :)

Wanna see our awesome family photos?

You will not be disappointed with such a good looking bunch. :)
Okay, here's a preview:

All the grandkiddos.

goodness wins.

Good thing about today: I got to ride my bike to school as sweet melodies sung in my ears, such as Good Life by OneRepublic (loving that song right now).

Bad thing about today: Tyson had to come pick me up from class and I had to abandon my bike, because of the pouring rain.

Good thing about today: The pouring rain has this amazing affect on me-- it makes me really happy. I feel like fall is here and Halloween is coming soon! I also feel so contemplative and my creative side really starts flowing just like the rain. These are things I love.

Bad thing about today: Rain makes me want to quit life for one day and cuddle with the husband while watching movie after movie together.

Good thing about today: Tonight, after budgetting, family home evening and homework-- husband and I can cuddle and at least watch ESPNEWS (our favorite...)

Overall, not a horrible Monday.

Plus I can't help but be so happy knowing next week is a four day school week and my Grandma's annual Halloween Party! Yessss.
