An Eggsellent Weekend.

Hi, my name is Katie and I'm a blog-a-holic.

Okay, I am kind of blog crazy lately. I can't help it!
I like to document things.
I like to write them down.
And who doesn't love reading about our awesome and overly exciting life, right?!

Anyway. I apologize for being a little blog crazy. I'm not really working on it, so just deal with it (those 7 people who read this).

This post features our Conference/Easter weekend. There is a plethora of photos and I could've posted more. Enjoy them if you want, because I sure do.

So since I documented the weekend in photos, I will write briefly about our weekend.

Friday: organized the apartment a bit. drove to springville. ate homemade pizza made by camille at the Hafen casa. tyson played soccer, hide and seek, hot and cold and easter egg hunts. what a great uncle! (i did hear the kids say today that they have two favorite uncles--Tyson and Brandon, of course). we also saw the last song, just because i read the book-- which i loved. the movie was good too, but not as good as the book, of course.
Saturday: conference. priesthood session for Tyson, girls/kid night at the clyde residence. ate food. talked. etc. then watched home videos--which are the BEST.
Sunday: conference. delicious dinner. conference. barbie jeepin'. dessert. back to logan.

It was a great weekend. I love seeing my family and spending time with them! It was a lot of fun and my niece Lauren who is afraid of strangers didn't even cry when i held her! It was a bonding weekend for us. Right Laur?

Family is awesome. My family. My in-laws. I love them all. We have fun with both families and are so blessed to both have great ones! We love you all!

OK. too many words. so sorry. :)

Photo time:

We ate some subway.
I made these: Easter style.
Of course, we had to have some of THESE little babies.
Muddie Buddies are a classic. Wow-- we ate healthy.
We also took some of these.
My dad did a little of this.
We watched some of these. They were the best!
And of course a little of this!
We woke up Easter morning to THIS white, fluffy stuff.
Our Easter baskets! and of course, the milk jug.
German pancakes. love 'em.
A delicious conference breakfast.
Fancy Easter dinner.

See the next post for more photos from our Easter weekend!

Little Lauren Lou Lou.

Here is the latest little shoot I did with my niece Lauren, who is 10 months old. She's adorable, energetic, sassy and so much fun to have around! Oh and not to mention one of the HAPPIEST babies ever. Seriously!
We got to play with her a little bit this weekend while we were in Springville. Here are a couple pictures from the shoot! {It was just a quick one, but she was a shining star!}

Also, blogger makes images look not as good as the really are. I am trying to figure out how to change this-- because I have seen some photos on other blogs with better quality. I also which my images were bigger. Any advice?

Well here are the pictures of Lauren! Ah-- what a cutie.

BLUE blue eyes.
Love that squished up face.
probably my favorite from the bunch!
i loved her little ponytail in this one!
what a cute shirt from grandma natalie!
love her.
she was so excited about the cadbury eggs her mother was holding above her.
happy, happy.
the tongue! so cute.
another favorite.
The end!

Bestos.

Here's the deal. I have a best friend named T. S. Perkes. Obviously. We're married and it's the best! It really is. We have so much fun together just... doing nothing? Homework? Dishes? Regardless, we have fun. We love being with each other. And we're bff's!

But this post is not about that best friend of mine. It's about those best friends who I spent 20 years of my life with. Well maybe not all had 20 years of my life, because they are younger, but for sure Talia Finley did because we were born on the same night. So here's a little tribute to my best friends.
What made me do this? Well check out one of the bestos blogs HEREand you'll see. She rocks.

I could go on and on about memories I have with them:
All the games we played in the playroom (i.e. - college, house, school, putting on plays, etc).
All the bike rides to reams.
All the watchings of Clueless, Grease, Annie and Bye Bye Birdie (don't worry-- we didn't understand any of the sexual content in the first two movies until recently).
All the tedious arguments and attempted but failed solutions (like if you make someone mad, you have to pay them a dollar).
All the renting of insects-- grasshoppers to be exact.
All the laughter we shared.
All the forts we built in the meadow behind my house.
All the sleepovers in my basement.
All the summer days spent swimming, swinging, sliding and sunning.
All the tears we shed when our besto moved to California.
All the distance we had between us, even those who were still in Utah.
And then of course, all coming back together and rejoicing when our besto moved back.
All the High School Graduations.
All the boys.. oh the boys. How juvenile we were.
All the fear as we moved to college and on with life.
All the trips to STG (dance parties, dixie rock, shopping, swimming, "Love in this Club".
All the memories. I could go on and on!
I have the BEST best friends anyone could ask for.

Talia.

Melissa.

JBod.

Witney.

These girls made me who I am today. They helped me make the decisions which led me to who I am today. Even if they don't know it.
Although I am old and married, our friendships will never die. They never have and they never will.
Things have changed, but for the better. I can't wait for their big days-- even if they aren't necessarily wedding days. No matter what happiness brings them, I'll be there. Mostly because they were there for me and because I love these girls.

Thanks bestos, for being the BEST. (cliche, i know. take it or leave it).

The end of my sentimental post.

Fancy

Here are a few of the bridals we took before the wedding. I wanted to post a bunch more, but I just posted these for now. Enjoy! We will probably never look this fancy ever again. But I enjoyed it while it lasted.
:)

this look is love.

Loved my hair. Loved the flowers.

Baby Anna Spence

We had a little photo shoot with little Anna this last week when she was only 4 days old!
It was a lot of fun. Shooting newborns is different, but really fun. It's like a whole new box of creativity has to be opened to pose them and think of good poses. Precious poses. :)
I think it was a success! But take a look for yourself.
She's beautiful!
